Must have lenses

I'm loving shooting with my 14-140. I come from the fixed lens world so interchangeable is new to me. My company does mostly corporate and commercial work. What other lenses would you suggest to add to my arsenal? I know there are so many options. I'm just looking to get a feel of what others are doing.

Looks like the 14-140 will be the workhorse for this type of work but I'm looking to see what else would be useful. I'm looking at the 20mm pancake and others but figured I'd toss the question out here.

Well, I do have one, and I completely agree. :D

+1

Aside from the low light amazingness it is a beautiful lens. I shot with it last night and was blown away by its bokeh and sharpness even wide open. Plus, 25mm is just a sweet spot for most work. The framing is just perfect.

(At f0.95 you can still get focus. You have to work a bit for it but it is possible at short distances.)

A fast old 50mm. Nikkor, Contax/Zeiss, etc. Beautiful look and a great interview lens. A fast 85 as well..

The Zuiko SHG line of f2 lenses: 14-35, 35-100, 150mm and Panaleica Summilux D 25mm/f1.4.

Why mess around.... just get a set of Zeiss CP.2's!

I believe this set would take good care of you.

Well if you're going to spend that kind of money, I'd get the RED prime set. I'd get the 5 primes set for $19,000 and then add the 18mm for 6 PL primes (18, 25, 35, 50, 85, 100). The total would be $23,750. They are faster and they have a constant T-Stop range across all 6. I would feel weird spending that amount of money on rehoused still camera lenses like the CP.2's are.

Aren't Reds rehoused Sigmas?

$20K and they cant even take a real photo of the lenses? It's not even a good 3d rendering.

I don't know. I haven't heard that. I doubt it. I can't think of any Sigmas that are 1.8 across 6 lenses like that.

Opinions are mixed.

I worked on a production the other day with the new RED prime lenses. They looked very sharp, very little breathing and seems to be well built. But, as a steadicamoperator I didn´t like that they differ so much in weight, a lot of rebalancing. Also, the focusscale was very strange. The highest marking on, I beleive, the 25 and 35 was 5 meter (about 15 ft.) and then infinity and the throw up there was really short, almost like a still lens. Is it based on a still lens design? I also found it to flare rather ugly. I would not recommend any production to use them, the ultra primes rent for about the same, just go with them.

Cinevised Nikon Primes:

All of my Canon L glass whenever Birger decides to put out a mount.

The Howitzer, aka 50-300mm Nikon AIS of course:

And I just got a screaming deal on a Red Pro Zoom 17-50mm and a 50-150mm, so as soon as I get my Hot Rod PL mount I will be in business with those.

Wow... I love how they do those "Cinevised Nikon Primes". (Green with envy)

I have a great set and range of Nikkors standards but am seriously considering selling them and getting me a set ASAP.

Any chance of a comparative screen grab from each in your set?
