With Xmas coming up I am looking to add to my shooting kit. I have a GH3 with a Rode Mic and apart from various lenses that's it.

What would be your choice of extras to enhance help the GH3 experience

Thanks Phil

I got a shoulder rig just to be able to steady it. I cant hold it very steady without it due to the light weight.

Tripod with fluid head, remote start/step, focus, iris, zoom, stabilizer, 2 or 3 channel field audio mixer. 3-light stand, horizontal and vertical slider about in that order.

Small HD DP4 monitor, for the focus assist/focus peaking. It makes things easier, focus a lot quicker and my videos have looked better since using it with the GH3. Hang it off a Fhugen Honu Gh3 cage and you're sorted.

audio... For cheap talking heads ive had the $23 audio tecnica atr-3350 plug straight into my camera that can reach the subject 15 feet away. Sounds great. You can get better audio by buying the zoom h1 and plugging the lav into that, or getting a shorter lav like the Oscar Sound-Tech ost-802 lav. This plugged into the zoom h1 can work like a wireless lav and you can put it in someonse pocket for things like weddings and presentations. Here is this $120 audio set up in a presentation i filmed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlbyfLKcCCw&hd=1

have a look at the Marshall 5" monitor as well, just under 400.00 at B&H

Yep, ND filters for video are a must. Good ones are expensive, but even a medium priced one will do a better job than losing a shot altogether if you have no filter at all. Polaroid makes a pretty OK series of ND and variable ND filters. Marumi brand are rated very good and yet aren't nearly as expensive as the high end ones.

Extra batteries (3rd party work fine and show up with the GH3's battery level meter)
Extra memory cards, of course
Monopod - I enjoy using my tripod, but a monopod is faster to work with and lighter, too
Viewfinder aids - The CarrySpeed VF-4 doesn't fit perfectly, but can be made to work with some effort. I replaced mine with a Zacuto Z-Finder Pro.
Fingerless gloves for shooting outdoors in the cold - got mine for a mere $7; one of my best investments this year
Post production software - If you shoot and edit a lot of video, there are plenty of editing apps and plug-ins that can add serious production value to your footage.
Time to shoot, shoot and shoot some more. Buying accessories is often easier than finding/making time to practice my shooting. Excuses, excuses…
