Yeah i know i know. He is coming here today to review the footage. Biggest thing is I told him ahead of time that to polish this turd its gonna cost more than to just have me help to reshoot and then edit plus it will still smell of STANK! But his final decision is to see what I can do with this.

So today we will find out where he wants to go from what I edited together so far. IM gonna almost demand more shooting for his performance, i mean really.. he told me that he shot it 3 times in front of a foam board at different zooms and angles to get variaty and something to help me edit together. Does it look like he did that at all? LOL.

This is the stuff I have to work with day to day too. Maybe I need a new post about where to find the right clients.
 
Tune sounds like a track to a low budget armature porno with some guy trying to sing about love.

The video suits the cheesiness of the piece. I'm sorry you had to work with that. If he thinks his song is good, who's to say he won't think the video is good as well?

I'm sorry, I couldn't watch the whole thing. Nothing wrong with the editing and it fits the video, but only so much you can do.

I'm sorry to hear you're problems.
 
I actually felt embarrassed on behalf of the singer. It made me cringe.

I would move town to get out of doing that job.
 
LOL. I want to move so bad. I live in Sumter, South Carolina not far from Columbia. Which I work in Columbia at WIS TV. but ugh... I gotta move. He talked with me on the phone yesterday, changed appointment to Sunday because he talked with a journalist and I think he is going to rework his story for the song and actually get some reshooting and he wants me there so I will do everything I can to make it better.

I guess its my job to try to make the best of a bad situation so I gotta practice and learn to do it well.

Anyone have any ideas for the reshoot?

I actually thought he was good...Then he got kind off tone, and sounded more like a girl
 
yes, sorry you had to endure that. but haven't we all ? i wish i was his music producer because the song is not that bad and i know i could do a better job. btw, audio is my first love, i'm just moving into the video side.

better luck in the future....
 
Oh the best part about this was reading the comments as I waited for the video to load!!!!

It really prepared me :)

Sometimes you gotta do it for the paycheck and then try and bury this in the recesses of your mind, right next to that big girl you woke up next to in college not remembering how you got there. God speed and goodluck.

If you want it straight I can give it too you straight.

None of this is personal... just business.


First... all of this footage is pure ****.

No joke.

Start fresh.

Shoot with an adapter and shoot him a bit softer.

Be sure you are getting good skin tones and that you can see his features clearly.

Shoot with longer lenses.

Whoever shot this distorted his face and/or didn't shoot him "from his best side" if ya know what I mean.


Scrap the concept for damn sure.

His ride is not "Baller" in any shape form or fashion and even if he is a stone cold mma knock out champ it's not coming off that way. He seems like a punk in these scenes.


If he uses these girls again, have him completely skip the first one with the straightened hair. Tell her anything to keep her from being in the final cut.

The one in the purple is decent looking.

The one in the striped shirt has got a nice body and great smile but she needs a different wardrobe without stripes and if you are going to do a "booty shot" do it from the side a bit more and in more faltering clothes.


Still... I don't know....


Maybe make it a much sweeter old school type video with great cinematography and a much better story line....

Something that is hot but not over the top or edge and has a nice flow and a happy ending.

Yeah, think I should show him this post at all to make sure he understands im not the only one who thinks this footage sucks? I mean I feel he thinks like sometimes when I am telling him that so you know.

Also i dont think he wants to go too much further into it as in reshoots. Wants to save money... Oh what a nightmare of a project!
 
Yeah i thought about that but I need the money for sure right now. I already got a damn speeding ticket this christmas if you know what i mean.

It was a local kid that bought a $5k camera and thinks he can do it all now!
 
The cinematography is nothing professional but I didn't think it was any worse than the hundreds of amateur pieces out there, certainly not the worst footage ever that everyone else's comments made it seemed like. The constant white flashing on the beat really annoys me though; that and the lack of an interesting story.

And yea, that guy sounds exactly like a girl when the notes get high.
