Music Video: you got me running...

I don't know where this rumor started or why it persists, but this is completely untrue. I shot the Thursday music video "At This Velocity" using the Sony F900/3 and Zeiss primes.

I believe the basis for this rumor was the Charles Mahon music video "Bombs".

I shot the music video "Bombs" with the Sony V1 in October of 2006 as part of a demo of the camera prior to its public release. The footage and resultant video was to be used by Sony to promote the V1 camcorder. This was strictly a demo video that I put together for a friend of mine using the V1 so that Sony would have footage to use for promotional purposes, and for me to have the opportunity to test drive the new camera.

The Thursday video "At This Velocity" was a professional music video that was produced by Island / Def Jam Records for MTV, Fuse, and IMF broadcasts. The only connection between these two separate videos is my work as the cinematographer, and their having been shot within a month of each other.

Both videos are available on my website:

artist: Thursday
song: "At This Velocity"
label: Island / Def Jam
camera: Sony HDW-F900/3 HDCAM

Haha,
I thought the Thursday video was HVX shot
Great work by the way!
But, have you done any videos with the HVX or DVX? (just out of curiosity...)

Not only was it fantastically editted and filmed, but the band itself is great! Who are they?

I noticed some dirty lens at times, but who cares about that. It was barely noticable.
I felt that sometimes in the video, it was a bit slow, with the two running after eachother. Im not sure what it was, it wasn't boring, just it felt abit slow. Just my opinion though man, i don't know maybe add some camera shake to it?

This would look great on tv, and I'd give it 10/10

Wow, I was just drooling over that footage. Can't wait to get my DVX camera...(just need a bit more money)

I want to add another thumbs up! I'm shooting my first music video in a couple of weeks ($0 budget, too) and I'm currently researching techniques, and this post has been very informative!

Thanks for sharing!
