Music Video With Pro-Am Crane and Glideshot Dolly

Most of this footage is from a test of my pro-am crane and stand and my glideshot dolly and tracks. Other footage from a Renaissance fair I shot back in the autumn. Shot using the DVX-100A and Anamorphic Lens. This footage is much lower quality than the actual footage I shot, so just imagine more clarity.

The Glideshot with handle was 240, the PVC schd 40 1/2 in track was about 20 dollars and the internal connectors for the PVC coast 38. Well worth the money.

Kewl man

do you have any photos of your dolly? I have also built one, but i've never had as much shake as yours produced?

perhaps we can help you engineer something slightly more substantial? Cause sorry, but that dolly doesnt cut it. Also with your crane, might need a bit more practice cause it was very jumpy. But practice makes perfect so it can only get better from here!

yeah, I aslo thought the footage looked kind of jumpy. but I couldn't tell if it was the dolly and crane or a compression problem.

I laid out the tracks in my backyard, which had rough spots and uncut tall grass for this time of year. I know it was jumpy, and I wanted to try out the equipment. It works better on smooth ground. You can see pictures of the dolly at Glideshot.com.

Jumpy - I let my young cameraman work the crane to get experience. He was good at some points, but he did move too fast in some. My Sorenson squeeze made all the jumpiness worse. Youtoob has a 100mb limit, so I had to compress a 6.5 gig file way down.
