Music Video, what ya think?

First and foremost, This was unrehearsed and must of us didn't know the words :) we did this just for fun, I wanted to test my DVX100 capabilities while filming at night, so I decided to have fun with it and at the same time learn something. It took about 2 hours to film (it was cold as hell) and about 3 hours to edit. All comments are welcome. Enjoy.
PS. The music is in Spanish – sorry

I just watched the video and I actually like it. I mean aside from the obvious ( bad lipsyncing) it was kinda cool. Now on to the suggestions.

1) I would opt for some tighter framing in a lot of the shots
2) Try some cuts in the video I noticed that they were all dissolves

I think one of the best shots or scenes was the guys in the phonebooth

Good Job

Thanks guys -

Good Point SilverWolf, i tried to stay away from all kinds of dissolves i think they look cheesy, lol - this was good practice for my film...

A little too much negative footage (footage of nothing in particular; footage that can be removed). LIP SYNCHING.

It threw off the whole feel. Fix that and you're gold.

some shots in times square looked like they needed some light.....could hardly see the dude's face. good camera movement although it was obviously hand-held. but you get the idea of what main elements are in a video....

why would you apologize for the music being in spanish- sounds much better than some of this voice enhanced/synthasized pop crap

Subway shots, excellent!

I'm usually the last person to say something like "This could have used more action." But... this could have used more action. I think some more agressive framing and angles could have given this some much needed energy.

Also, it seems like you could play with your master pedestal and other in-camera tricks to get a "look" unique to the vid. This comes across as if it were shot with a Sony cam :O

Again - thanks everyone - it was mosdef a good experience, my main concern was lighting, and I guess under the conditions i'm pretty happy with the results - all your comments have been great, thanks - krs

Yeah that was great. A whole pick up truck better than the crap you see on TV these days which are pointless and verging on being subliminal messages. I always like to see creativity and not people applying THE FORMULA.
