Music video - varicam/hvx200

This is a music video I shot back in December, mostly on the Varicam (the "H" version), along with a stock HVX200 and sony Z1U as "B" and "C" cameras, respectively. The HVX200 footage holds up pretty well, intercut with the big camera. More noise, of course, but it wasn't too difficult to get the two to match pretty closely. I don't think I will ever shoot dominos again though.

Constructive criticism welcome. :dankk2:

Very clever. Really liked the dominos and how they reflected his life. And you took it one step further when he resets them before going to bed. Kind of like real life. Really like the way it flowed.

Freaky looking guy!! But not relevant.

The interior shot lighting seemed overall a bit flat and diffused looking to me.

Nice job.

Q: Did any dufus knock the dominos down as they were being set, or by accident?

Very cool man... I would have liked to see the dominoes do bit more after the initial getting ready in the morning part, like more than just following him, but still very well shot video and great concept, which is what most videos lack these days. Was there a budget for this video? What made you decide to use the other cameras ie Varicam instead of just the HVX which I'm assuming somebody owned... and did you rent the varicam?

Sean,

Thanks for your input/comments. We had planned to do more with the dominoes originally, but the setups just took too much time. I think the budget ended up being about $3500-4000. Luckily we got a lot of equipment and crew for free. As far as why we shot on the Varicam, we got a deal we couldn't refuse. :Drogar-Dum(DBG):
