Music Video Tips

Didn't see a thread like this, so I thought I'd make it.

I'm probably going to be shooting a very low budget "rough draft" music video for "Hotdog" a refugee from Sudan this Saturday. I don't know quite what to do, so please post all ideas etc. or guides as to waht to do in editing aswell.

By the way, if i don't do this, he'll do it alone with a handycam on a tripod.

I've got DVC30, Letus35 w/ 50mm, tripod, and that's basically it, besides an Azden SGM 1x (which i don't think i'll need).

Help, please!
:)

whats up buddy I just shot some footage for a music video this week and it turned out great...(thanks to this forum). the one thing that i know you want to do is to get as much light as you need for the shot it helped us out alot we did an alley scene that was pretty much black and not to mention we were using an M2 adapter and the footage came out great. I'm not saying that lights are all you need to worry about but if you light it good everything else is quite easy. if you need any help or just a tip P.M. me. Good Luck

Thanks for the reply so quick. When I said low budget, I meant low budget. I highly doubt there will be anything more than what I have, meaning probably know lights. I relaly want to use my Letus, but if there is some night-shooting (seeing as it's a rap video, probably..) i don't know what to do.

I'm not sure why you're asking, but if it's for scenery etc., our downtown was built to look like Chicago.

No i was asking because if you were close to me I would come and help you out but I live in Baltimore, MD. I want to get as much on the job as I can.

P.S. We used home depot lights like $29.99 with stand and double light. we had three of them hope this helps....... Good Luck:)
