Everything happened so quickly...
I asked the band it would be fun to make a music video before they leave for a flight in 4 hours and they agreed.. we had nothing to lose. It was their very first music video and they were a little stiff at first but they really rocked every single time. So we just started shooting right away without any prep whatsoever, no make up, no wardrobe or nothing, we just shot it in 3 hours and I edited in 2 days. That's why it takes in only one place, inside a studio where they were jamming before they met me. We played to the song about 10-12 times. Well, it was a lot of fun. The band likes it and their fans love it so.. good for them and good for me. I think it came out pretty good for such a short time prepped music video. Anyway, thanks for watching and I would appreciate any comments.

Wow dude, good job. Nice editing

Now explain:

How did you light this?
How many cameras? 100b?
What were your in camera settings?
Hot did you color correct it?

Great!

Thx theComo!

The studio had about 10 tiny light bulbs on the ceiling already so I used all of it to light the room and also used one lamp (not a professional light) to give the main front guy some light. Lightingwise, that's all I used.

One camera. DVX100a. Sometimes stock handheld, sometimes letus35FE attached handheld, and sometimes stock on crane. We played to the song about 10-12 times.

I used 24PA stock setting except the detail level brought down to -3 for letus35 adaptor.

Color correction.. I tweaked a lot on color and nothing really seemed to work except some blueish tone. I don't usually like that color tone because it's used so many times and now it's so common but because of that damn plain wall on the background, no other color gave it the feel I wanted. oh well.

Oh and I did a lot more tweaking on effects.. film effects and some other varioius filters to make people think, "Is my computer monitor OK?" or make them to think, "I feel like I just had a small seizure" but that was all intentional because that's the sign of a kick-ass video. I think.

Thx again for the comment. I hoped my answers helped.

Ya, I didnt get a seizure, I thought the effects were well put. They weren't to harsh, nor were they to distracting. The color's were good, the blue tone fit perfectly. thanks for the info!

It's pretty good, considering that you only had one location. It's hard to make a compelling vid out of one spot, especially if it's just the band playing.

i loved it, very cool, modern and hip
you used your 100a well, i mean, these are the types of music videos that inspire me, and to help me create cinematic music videos.
awesome job
