don't get to down on yourself.
This video had a GREAT look too it. you can tell you spent a lot of time building that set. the only thing that bugged me was the intro with the two hosts.

Thank you....again, it's sort of insulting that after over 100 views, 1 comment is all i get. Lol. I know it aint a bad vid.

Hey, been busy here at work otherwise I would of commented earlier it's look great as always especially since you were going for that vintage sort of look. I don't like the intro to much either with that guy and girl it just doesn't mesh well with the video. I like your januz video better but that is because I liked the song and you had more creative control with that. Overall it looks great you are amazing when it comes lighting.

I love the direction you took with this one Noah, i take my hat off to you for getting the retro tv footage look nailed. It looks like you shot this on old vintage tape, can you explain the workflow you had to go through to get it onto computer. Saying that though, i think the band were hideous but that's just my opinion. I also like the tv presenter intro but felt that you could have done it a little better, i think the sound lets it down a bit, almost as if you used the mic from the camera instead or recording it with professional equipment. It just doesnt sound that authentic to my ears. Also not sure about the crash zooming in and out really fast but the rest of the camerawork felt quite authentic. It almost seems to me that you deliberatley engineered the camerawork to look clunky & retro.

Good job, rubbish band.

Hah thanks Jamesh. I did approach the style and movement of filmmaking with a 70's tv show in mind. The audio for the intro/outro ended up being from the on-board mic because the mic i rented didn't work. That was my last resort. Its hard to see on youtube but it is really shot on a 70's broadcast camera that i own. There's no audio when capturing, and it was a simple BNC out to RCA (into dvx).

I'm impressed just at the fact that you built the set and got the costumes and so forth. Good production, although the music was...well the production value was great. I agree with the hosts comments. Maybe a little more in the performance and better audio would have made that work well. This video reminds me of Andre 3000's video for "Hey Ya" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vw5xkBWajD4). The whole 70's vintage look and everything. Of course, they had a few hundred thousand dollars to spend. ;)

Noah - You should be proud.

Sometimes, I think it's so easy to sit back and play armchair critic on these boards. Fact of the matter is that you did it and you had a production design in your mind and saw it through. Nicely done.

As for the band, they definitely have that tube, solid-state analog fuzz going on. Keep up the good work....

Wow. You had an idea and you went with it. Love the vintage feel, and I think you captured it nicely... I actually like the music, too ;)

Cool idea doing the BNC... Would've never thought of doing that. Really helps achieve the old video broadcast look of the old music videos

The performance part is great - you captured the retro vibe well. Costumes and the performances are awesome. It rocks!

The intro/outtro sections should probably be dropped, in my opinion. It doesn't work for me because the opening title graphics are too new-looking not-authentically retro (LiveType font?), the actors seem a bit young and amatuerish, and the camera mic audio totally kills it. But the meat of the video is top shelf. Kudos!
