Music video shot with 5D and a lot of editing

Hi!

Very nice video! So good that it was a huge disappointment that there wasn't anykind of twist at the end :/ Now it was funny idea, but that idea just go on and go on, without telling anything new... But nice job anyways!

Thanks for your comments :-)!

Your are right Hene1 about the ending, I shot a "story" scene to use as the last scene but it didn't feel right when I edited it in the music video.
So we decided finish with the band instead.

You can check out our latest music video for the band Gama:

It was shot on a 5D with Canon lenses: 16mm, 35mm, 50mm and 85mm.
We took 2 days shooting for the story and a day with the band.
Editing a lot of hours on FCP :-)!

Enjoy,

Did you take the camera off of the sticks even once? Like My Professor once told me, the problem with many dslr shooters is they shoot as if they were taking pictures.

Not one pan, dolly, hand held or anything I seen in the entire video. Also the chopping up of the screens was overdone.

The image quality looks great and captured a lot of nice footage, but you need camera movement, you need it. IMO the on sticks look the whole video is something that truly ruins a project.

You are right, a lot of people use the 5D with a tripod but I think for this music video it would have been very strange if I would have moved the camera and done the boxes :-). The only part I shot hand held was during the food fight.

The hole concept of the video if having exactly the same frame left and right.

I think when people decide to shoot still on the tripod it's just a matter of directing point of view not "still vs moving pictures"...

To be honest, I didn't notice the non moving shots, I was to busy checking out the hot girl. I think people today use way to much movement when it's uncalled for, thanks to igus. Steven made the right choice for this, had the camera been moving, it would have made the boxes look like crap. They needed to be still for the cut. I loved it. thought it was great.

By the way life4eva, Do you have any links to your work, im curious to see what your working on.
