Music Video Shot on iPhone 4

It's sad that a musician has to use an electronic device to promote their music (as per the title's inclusion of the device) and it's sad that the device gets more attention then the music itself.

Not sure about that. These days, you have to literally get arrested to get noticed as a musician. I actually like the look of the video too.

Speak for yourself, I got arrested and all it got me was a sore butt the next day! :(

haha, j/k. It's so tough as a musician, and I find that very infuriating to be honest. There has never been worse pop music than there is today, it's almost all total crap, especially Kesha, Lady Gaga, Fergie, and Britney. Just AWFUL. Truly some of the worst noise pollution in human history, no talent, bad lyrics, stupid videos, I hate them all. And yet I hear indie bands with absolutely amazing rock music, and somehow they can't get signed. Makes no sense to me at all.

Because it isn't "catchy". I honestly hear that word so often used to describe why certain people enjoy pop songs, but really it's just what they've been told to listen to by mainstream radio/MTV.

There's a surprising number of people out there with no desire to hear something different and new and that are content to hear the same recycled samples and FX over and over again.

Yet you can't deny that it is a great song + video....

You need to understand "Marketing" and why things are done they way they are, also you need to get off your high horse and acknowledge that there are man more talented people in this world doing great work.

This video looks amazing regardless what it was shot on

@Patryck Why sad? Pixies - Bossanova was first album recorded totally digitally and was touted as so in music press, Avatar - first 3d movie with blue people fighting, Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms promoted as first music CD in mass production on shelves and promoted as such etc etc

It's commonly known that labels aren't really signing bands anymore, not unlike distributors not buying films...

Labels are making their dough selling ancillary crap, not recorded music (unless it's for commercial use).

I have favorite Indie bands, some of which have disbanded. I listen to their stuff and think "If I made this music and didn't get signed, I'd give up too." It's infuriating how much great music is just never acknowledged.

These days, without a gimmick or a significant hook, you get nowhere as a musician or band unless you're OK with selling CD's out of the back of your car at gigs. That's why bands need super-freaky music videos to get noticed. If you can get lucky enough ride a viral video wave, it could get you noticed.
