Music video shot on F3 / S-Log / Zeiss ZF2 Cine-mod lenses

We just released this music vid shot on F3 w/s-log. Currently on mtv.com. All available light.

Recorded to AJA KiProMini, PR422 HQ

We used our Duclos Cine-mod Zeiss ZF.2 kit. LOVE those lenses!

On this shoot we used a SmallHD DP6 SDI with peaking turned on.

Also which ZF.2s did you use?

We mainly used the 28mm f/2.0 and the 35mm f/1.4. The tight shot is th 85mm f/1.4 and I believe the 21mm f/2.8 made an appearance.

Beautifully done. How many takes/camera angles?

We shot the whole thing in 2 hours. We didn't have permits so we were shooting as fast as possible. I believe we shot 12 takes, most of which were different setups. We threw away a few shots where we felt the performance didn't fit.

Was it a creative choice to grade the video as flat as it is? Not saying its bad only asking because you used S-Log and gave you a higher latitude and it does appear rather flat with low chroma.

It was a creative decision. We originally started with a punchier grade, but we kept dialing it back. It was a little hazy that night and we felt like a low sat low contrast look would convey that better. Thanks for asking.
