Music Video shot in 3 Hours

Ooohft sounds like warfare between the d90 gangs here... just keep getting better by shooting (not literally and not with guns y'all...)!

More planning should be put in pre-production. It looks like you just got the rapper to roll off while you waved the camera infront of him, so it comes off more like a rehearsal and a test rather than a music video. Did you pay the model? Hopefully she doesn't think you guys were perverts and messed about...

I would say reshoot the music video after you've come up with more ideas. And if you can't come up with a better ideas, then you've got to make the technical work really good, here I see exposures all over the place, no lighting, no set design, jittery motion, a weird motivated-camera away from the girl (to the audience it kind of conveys a homosexual shyness, no joke!) and a sneering rapist quality in the rapper's demeaner. It makes it unrelatable and unlikable. Anyhoot, keep at it long enough, I'm guessing you're just starting out right?

lol, depending on your experience id say its not to bad.

I think some color correction could be used in some places.

Not sure if its fair for stax to pick on anyone else using a d90, as he is obviously way above and more pro than most of us here.

Its like Michael Jordan making some of someone he beats in a random pick up game at a park.

lol

jon!

Sorry boys, I had no intentions to make it sound like I was picking up on anybody.
I just expressed my view. There is plenty of 3-4 hour music videos here and this one here felt like a one hour shoot. No need to panic as I am sure Kris will be back with something nicer and more polished soon.
We are all on the same level here.

did this music video over the weekend? only had 3 hours to film due to models/ cold weather and midnight hours

Protip: Just because you make something in 3 hours doesn't make it good or bad.
Protip 2: A filmmaker never makes excuses. All he has to show for is his film.

Criticism hurts, but we need it nevertheless. I only watched half of it, because it had no meaning for me. Every endeavour has to have a narrative drive - this seemed somehow disconnected.

I couldn't do any better though.

Your next will one will be better because you got straight comments here.

yeah well this was my first video shot. so sorry if im not STAXX. Yet

I didn't realise it was your first.

That's great for a first-time effort. Staxx was a little harsh, but he has a lot of skills evident in his work.

I look forward to your next video :cheesy:

i think he wont come back here
lock exposure.transition from wide screen to not so wide 16:9 wasnt too god.

bwwd, do you think he won't come back because he didn't lock exposure?

krisjohn, if you can see that a criticism can drive you on to improve what you are trying to achieve,
the criticism is critically important. I think some of the comments on this thread are in this category. But for this to happen, you must be honest with yourself -
did you really achieve what you had in your mind's eye? Can the criticism get you to what you want more quickly or more completely? It really comes down to what you had hoped to achieve. That's why personal honesty is so important. Don't let yourself off the hook by being
defensive - there's no time for that because you're continually creating things. Take it,
think about it, and move on. Discard what does not matter, but welcome the fresh opinion another person can give.

hehe ,no.
I think he just hit the wrong guy and now could have negative opinion bout posting here.
Most people dont realize that when youre posting something on internet then youve got to be ready for heaviest criticism you ever took in your life, this is internet and people are more than honest here...or then dont write anything at all and you see all those threads with 100+ visits and 0 comments.People want to be nice and not commenting ,it leads nowhere IMO.On internets you must be tough and not really THAT serious about every comment.
How does it feel when you have 100+ visits and 0 comments ? Not really that nice, even small bashing would be good huh ?
