I recently finished working on both the music video and single for "Prayer of Light" with Joanna St. Claire, where we mixed older HV30 footage with brand new GH2 Driftwood Sedna AQ1 C footage. You've got sunsets, soulful music and lots of color grading to bring it all together with what someone on Personal-View called "a really retro filmic vibe".

Here is the blog where I have all the links (including the iTunes single) and will soon put up a production article.

And if you hate having to go to other pages, here are the embeds. The YouTube 1080P and Vimeo (standard so 1280, not 1080P) footage.

I feel like on of the keys to craftsmanship is knowing the strengths and weaknesses of what you work with. Part of the reason I used the HV30 was for the powered zoom and the great colors (which I still enjoy). If you give it enough light and do not need too much resolution or shallow DOF in anything but close-ups (or really smooth bokeh), it can still do great things for you. If you emphasize those things, it is easy to get frustrated. :)

The GH2 compliments it beautifully in terms of the resolution, lens choices, lowlight, etc. so it was great to come back and get the shots that I couldn't get with the HV30 with the GH2.
