Music Video: Industrial: CrowdKontrol

I liked it till the vocals started. Then it all went down hill. WAY down hill.

First, the singers part/look/acting looked like its from a bad 80's video. Then the "strobing" work lights were just ridiculous. Then I had to shut it off.

The intro was intriguing, though. If I had that video sitting on my hard drive, I'd add in a TON of effects, and do some SERIOUS color grading to cover up all the bland shots. Blow out the highlighs, crush the blacks, make it almost an "experimental" video. In my opinion, it's the only way to salvage it. It'll take a lot of post work, but it's doable.

good luck

hey greeches

I liked everything BUT the performance parts. Strobing didn't work and you'll definitely have to spice it up in post. The beginning was great but like rcbrown said, went down will. If you can, add as much of the narrative stuff in there as you can.

Totally agree with rcbrown, it felt very 80's 90's. And especially when the cuts to the red headed guy made me laugh. It didn't have a modern feel at all, and it just made me go "huh?"
I hope that didn't sound too harsh, but I think you can work with it, and make it look a lot cooler.

I totally agree. We had originally planned a longer shoot w/ more story but the cops shut us down as we didn't have any permits. The flashing lights was actually a huge fan we found in a machine shop that we shined a shoplight through. It was a genuine STROBE!!

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, starts great! Some serious CC work will help for sure. Maybe take another look at the cuts and see if you can edit them differently (more like the start). I sometimes like to just "experiment" and do something radical to see how it looks. You never know what "gifts" you'll find.
