guys, let me say this is my first pro/music video work,it was fun and learned from it.. im in the process of editing the different clips that we shot (indoor,beach,park/landscape/downstairs train station,car/night shots, desert )for a music video and im having a hard time trying to understand how i should grade the video..I know there maybe no general rule, but for a music video, would it be better to have one overall general feel or color to the whole music video, or is it ok to go from one extreme to another depending on the shot and location?thanks for any tips of ideas

why don;t you watch a few music videos first and decide on your own? I don't remember seeing extremes in color grading myself, but it's been a while since I watched any music vids.

It's all just based on artistic and creative thought. Follow your filmmaking heart to what you think works best.
