Info:
- The video is for a song "Tumse Hai" from the just-released Hindi
music album "Meri Chahat"
- This entirely indigenous debut effort is by Madhumohan (a PhD &
Performer in Carnatic Music + Engineer by profession), who "chucked it
all" in Canada and came back to India to make the album in Hyderabad-Mumbai.
Album website:

Email:

Subtext: Message from Phani, who directed the video
- Madhumohan is a "nobody" and Meri Chahat is against the grain right
now: it's melodious, complex and of impeccable sound quality. But he
has had a really really rough ride so far: he has been on this
full-time for nearly two years now. Forget encouragement, the blokes
who run the music setups aren't even delivering paid-for services to
him, making the entire Release exercise look like sabotage/fraud. It's
like "Hey, you got indigenous stuff? You moron, come here, pay us
money so we can bury you".
- Right now, he's broke. But more importantly, he's going be broken
too if he doesn't receive some kind of public support - a sale, a
lead, a mail, a comment... whatever! Sure, this may not be of the same
importance as, say saving the ozone layer... but he's a good guy, his
work is indigenous and super, and he's actually working on his
calling... deserves support!
- Firefly(www.firefly.in), the company I co-own, has been supporting his effort for
over 6 months now in all ways we can: making the video, designing
merchandise, creating contacts, planning, brainstorming...
I urge you to spare some time of yours to help us out here. You could:
- Watch the YouTube video and leave a comment
- Go to the album website, hear samples of the songs and write a mail
- Buy the album from a store (right now India only, overseas/online
sales shortly)
- Circulate the YouTube link to as many people as you can.
Thanks,
PHANI
