BEHIND THE SCENES - FRESHOLD VIRUS

I was asked by a member of the band, Freshold, to create a video for them, in-order for them to promote themselves. This would be the bands first video and I was determined to make it a good one!

Pre-Production was started on the video around January time. The video was a performance based feature of the band, split between the single female member and the 2 MC's. The two separate portions of the video would need to contrast each other, whilst keeping inline with the track. A lot of time (and debate) was spent on working out the look for the two portions of the video. We ended up working with the idea of contrasting color palette's, one portion would use blues and greens, whilst the other would use a lot of strong red colors.

On February 2nd, we began shooting the first portion of the video (Betsan's section)

On March 2nd we shot the second portion of the music video (Rest of the band)

Editing the footage took about 2 weeks and I then began grading the video. An idea I had early on in the production of the video was adding digital flares to lights to give the whole video a more unique, glossy look. I wanted it to 'pop' out to the video, a flashy visual system. Although this added to the work load, the results were well worth it. Here is the ungraded version of the video -

The video was completed on the 2nd May and the band were extremely happy with the results .

The video was shot on a Canon 7D. I used Final Cut Pro for the editing and Hitfilm Ultimate for the grading and VFX.
