Hey People,

Here's my first music video, I directed, did the camera work, editing, and lighting... I had a friend help me moving the lights and all that good stuff...

It's shot with a dvx100a, but heavily processed in the attempt to make it look like super 8 film as the band loves super 8 film.

The total budget for the video was $320 including food.

I am still tweeking things and changing things, but would love to hear opinions.

a friend of mine is going to work on the intro sounds for me so I know that it's a bit week in that area...plus he is going to try and adjust the whistle to sound more like the little kid...

Not sure I understand the story, but it looks as good as anything I've seen on tv. Keep up the good work. I love low buget stuff.

auhmmm,... it s funny people are skankin but it s exactly the opposite of ska(off beat is not on the good time...)...anyway that just a musician opinion.

As far as the video,... i think it a good job overall. But, there s clearly a jump cut at the beginning of the video,...when the girl turn to talk to the little boy, doesn t look smooth to me at all.

I think you can do less in(tele) and out(wide) with the zoom. I know it s to get the rythm but it seem to much. Your framing is a bit tight sometime.

Is this was progressive ?...look interlaced i found.

Like the fisheye shot and the "comin people(dog?)"shot

Keep it up

Hmmm... I wasn't diggin the super 8 effect. It just looked like dirt to me, superimposed over clear video. Maybe you can do a little more color correction to make the effect more believable. I liked the fun attitude of the vid, but I think the singer should've had a microphone to make the rehearsal that morphs into a show/party a little more credible. You might try a little carnival music at the beginning, very low, but just enough to mask the street noise that doesn't sound so good. Like it could be playing from a transistor radio. Or it could be another song from the band (very low and muffled). This way it doesn't seem like they were standing around in the dark waiting for passerbys. Great shot of the dog joining in on the fun! Overall I enjoyed it, and the song is a real "toe-tapper"
