Music Vid Shot on DVX100a

That was incredible. Love the effects.

I was watching your other work and must say that everything is top-notch.

The site layout if killer too!

Welcome to DVXuser.com

Thank you S.O.Y. the site is pretty new too, had an old design that was very lame, had to redo it to match the great DVX100 haha.

i think it's because that is the only section that requires the flash 8 player because of the video codec used. So all the other sections would work with flash player 7

Prodigy,

Thanks man, I actually made the site too. I dabbled with flash for a long while before I got the hang of it, and I still have a lot to learn.

dude, that was sweet!

My favorite shot was inside the living room, pans to the right, you see the guitar player in the picture frame, then we follow the singer as he walks past the camera and sits down to continue singing. very smooth move my man!

Was this your first post here at dvxuser??

Great stuff. How did you do the living room walking by the mirror trick? Also, the piano darting off screen. Those looked sweet. Great job man.

Tim.

Thanks to all for the kind words. Yes this is my first post here at DVXuser. As for the shots,

The piano shot was done with after effects, just digitally erasing the piano and putting it by itself on another layer, then I ripped it right off the screen. All the rest was a lot of painstaking frame by frame work. I exported each frame to photoshop and then erased the blank area in the frame and superimposed the video behind it. If I was smart I would have used chroma key green paper in the frame and just keyed it out. However I did it the long way but it paid off in the end.

Hey man, I saw this this morning, couldn´t post then.

Loved the video, very nicely shot!

Loved the rooftop ending, I could only tell it wasn´t 16mm by the "star effect" of the DVX´s lenses when you´re shooting the sun. But it looks absolutely awesome!

Everything else looked great as well, but the minimalistic "band playing aggainst a black background" got kind of old. I also think you kept too long in that set piece.

The living room sequence was sick! Loved the mirror passage, very well done!

Congrats man!

Cheers!

taubkin,

Yeah I agree there is a little to much in the "black space." We actually shot a bunch of footage of the band playing in the apartment but we kinda messed up the lighting and it just looked bad. I was tempted to use it but the black space just looked so much better that I had to sacrifice the other location.
