Shot with Nikon MTF adapter. Loving the camera. Just playing with the color matrix and the such and seeing real world resolution and latitude issues. Recorded to SxS card. Interesting about the overcranking can be done at 1440 x 1080. So doesn't look too soft compared to 1080p stuff.

yep - it can go up to 60fps when recording at 1440 x 1080. So looking at the footage on a 1080p monitor - it still looks a tad bit soft but not as bad as before recording at 720p. I'm really happy about this feature.

IT doesnt work.

Please try to replicate your findings with regard to 1080p slomo.

Interesting, it says here: http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/product-PMWF3L/

"Recording Frame Rate HD HQ Mode: 1920 × 1080/59.94i, 50i, 29.97P, 25P,23.98P; 1440 × 1080/59.94P, 50P, 29.97P,25P, 23.98P; 1280 × 720/59.94P, 50P, 29.97P, 25P,23.98P
HD SP Mode: 1440 × 1080 /59.94i, 50i (23.98P is converted to 59.94i in 2-3 pulldown processing)."

So is that a typo? Or did David find some secret way to get 60p? Love to know for sure.

HMMmmmmmmmm........ cant wait to get home and experiment....

I don't think it's a secret technique. I just had S&Q motion (slow and quick motion) on the menu set to 1440 - with a frame rate of 60. Which is 1440 x 1080. And I clicked the S&Q button and it went from 1990 x 1080 24p to this frame rate and I shot it. Doesn't it appear in the manual to say that as well - that you can shoot at 1440 x 1080 up to 60fps? Maybe I am miscommunicating something here?

It doesn't do it. When u click s/q motion pay careful attention to the lcd, it switches to 720p. Unless yours is different. Take a video of the process and put it up. My F3 has no such function.

Blargh!!!!

guys I completely apologize - Timur you're right it goes to 720p or 1280p or whatever it calls it. I read in the manual before I shot with the camera the 1440 x 1080 59.97 thingy and I assumed it could do slo mo. Anyway I apologize guys - there must be some way perhaps to unlock this feature - but anyway I didn't even look at my final cut timeline to see. oh well.

Its ok. But the 720p is so sharp, that it still can cut reasonably with the 1080p material.

Excellent color, even when recording to 8bit 4:2:0. I'm guessing that Nikon lens helped a lot too.
