Multi-windows/Split Screen

Hey everyone, I'm working on storyboards for my short film at the moment. I'm wondering how to pull off multiple windows like some of the groovy 70's movies in split screen where they would triple the on-screen action, place video windows into the empty black background, etc. What program would I use to do this? After Effects?

Ok, but how...? In Final Cut Pro, for example. Is there some kind of plug-in that would allow for this?

In final cut pro you would want to put each video clip on top of eachother in the timeline and use the crop tool to resize each clip to the "windows" that you're going for.

Do you have motion? I do shots like that in motion it just has more options, and it's simple.
