THE FILM/THE CREW:
HEART OF NOW is our third ultra-low budget picture, and we’re currently accepting submissions by individuals interested in working in a small, meaningful, collaborative atmosphere – an HD production that will be shot over the course of 16-20 days during October 2007.
Ideally we’re looking for individuals eager to join a family-like crew, helping you along your path as an artist and those that can handle a variety of tasks: Gaffer, Grip, Set & Office PA, Post Asst, Runner, Lunches, etc. An insured, registered car will be necessary and you must be local. WHAT IS THE PAY?
THERE IS PAY FOR SOME POSITIONS, but it is a minimal flat rate for the 16-20 shoot days ($550-$750 depending on experience & commitment) so we ask that this doesn’t break your bank – that you can afford to commit to the production days. We will pay this amount guaranteed in weekly installments, and will issue a deposit upon signature of contracts. Because we donate 1/3 of the film's profits to charity, we keep our costs low & all the above the line talent are working for free or deferred pay. You’ll actually be one of the highest paid people on set.
CURRENTLY SEEKING:
PAID: GAFFERS/GRIPS – Lighting guys, willing to get their hands dirty and work efficiently.
PAID: PRODUCTION ASSTS/2ND AC & 2ND AD – willing to multi-task and get their hands dirty in a number of tasks, creative, administrative & practical.
PAID: BOOM OPS – Friendly, experienced, willing to hang in there for long takes and improvisation.
PAID: SOUND MIXERS – Friendly, experienced, knows that there is more to mixing than riding the levels.
SOME PAY: PRODUCTION DESIGNERS – personable, willing to work within the confines of a limited budget for sole credit. Creative and inexpensive solutions needed.
INTERNS (UNPAID, FLEXIBLE) – willing to work with a growing company on this next effort, and get to know the ins and outs of indie filmmaking. You will work closely with the AP & Producer.
