Hi, I am about to purchase a mulitrack recorder like the Korg D888 for Dolby Digital productions, but wonder how to sync the multi audiotracks up to the audio signal of my DVX100B.
Several wireless mikes I use are about 30 meters away from the camera and other gear and in some case I can get a stereo feed from the end mix directly form the mixing table.
Current set-up 6 mikes and two line feeds go into a Berhinher Eurorack 1602. The stereo outputs go the DVX100B XLR connectors. This will get me a stereo only signal, containing all audio tracks.
Ther is an Edirol R-4 device that lets you start/stop the camera but that's also no solution as I capture video directly on a laptop, usually not on tape.
To put in other words, I want to use two recording devices both recoding audio tracks (8 in all) and one capturing the video and the stereo end mix.
In post I want to sync the 6 audio chanels to the stereo signal going to the DVX100B, after which I delete the stereo signal from de DVX100 and only want to use the remaining 6 tracks for Dolby Digital output.
I use Vegas 6 as NLE.
But how to sync these 6 tracks (from the Korg D88) with the stereo which is synced to the video if you're still with me?
Any experienced suggestions are welcome.
Also for the Korg D888 alternatives that will make audio syncing (almost) a breeze.
