Mulit cam setup

I am going to be working on a TV pilot and we are doing a mutli cam setup and my question is in the sound area. Would it be best to just run one mic through the mixer and out it to both cameras or have each camera on its own mic. I would think that in editing if the sound came from the same mic it would mix better but would like to hear other thoughts. Using the DVX 100a and a 100b

Kyle,

For many of us, redundancy is a good thing.

Lots of audio pros double mic for a number of reasons, reliabilty is only part of it. All mics sound a bit different from one model and brand to another.

You always get more options with more mics. Think about the sounds you are going to capture and choose 2 different mics to get a great blend. It's a great part of multi track recording.

It's one of the oldest "secrets" in the audio world.

You're missing a sure bet if go with identical mics.
