Absolutely beautiful, again. Like other posters, I have all your films on office desktop ready to take me on mini-vacations during a stressful day. When will that DVD be available?
You have an awesome eye man. That was beautiful. Do you make the music in all your films? If so, it's really good also. You need to do something feature length.
I am happy that "EVEN BIG GUYS MAKE MISTAKE". Last month I was shooting a Shot film (in house no budjet production) and the director (my friend) complained about the noice visible in the screen by then we have taken around 10 shots. I was trying hard changing light it just dont go. Later I realised it is because of the gain.
I am patiently waiting to see your new work.
1. I'm hoping to have a DVD available for sale in June/July.
2. 2:35:1 aspect ratio (approx) is achieved by adding a letterbox mask to widescreen footage...I crop off the masks in Sorenson for the Web version. When I play it on my widescreen TV, the letterbox is present. I shoot in letterbox mode and then uprez to widescreen (top post in Technical section)
3. I do not compose the music but use tracks that are available from the online library I am part of: http://www.bmgmusicsearch.com/us
toilet_bob, get your ass outside and start shooting. It being too cold is a feeble excuse
I was just praying for that first shot to dolly forward ever so slightly! why wasn't that shot on a dolly? I'll buy you a dolly if you'll reshoot that first scene.
J/k. I really liked it!
Damne. You're a gangster. How do you manage to always have great music with your even greater footage? Also, I did see alot of interlacing. I noticed one other person mentioned it. Are we the only ones?
EDIT: Nevermind. Read the post where you mentioned where you get the music.
Thanks guys....the interlacing issue...not sure what that's about but it is usually present in files I upload that have not been uprezzed to widescreen (see top post in Technical Section). When I make a Quicktime for the Web file from the uprez, those problems disappear. Not sure I know why.
Anyway, I'm replacing the file tonight so it shouldn't be an issue after that.
I just replaced the file with the uprezzed version of the film. Let me know if you still see interlaced artifacts....you shouldn't but I'd like to know.
steven, i had originally mentioned the interlacing as well. it is gone now, as you said. so, an idea as to why it's showing up...since i assume you shoot everything 24p which has no interlacing in the original footage...perhaps, could you have your field dominance reversed in your timeline on your non uprezzed footage?
that probably isn't it, because then all your stills would be interlaced as well. so i guess i answered my own question, but you mentioned you've had that problem before, and that was the first thing that popped in my head.
Nice work Disjecta, as always. You have a great eye for composition. I'm excited to see what happens when we see you put your eye to work on a fictional narrative.
Interlacing gone. Isn't it wierd, the first drafts of your videos usually have interlacing on my computer. Should I be doing something, or is that on everyones computer, and they aren't mentioning it? BTW: Looks even greater w/o the interlace man!
