mts playback

I'm headed out of the country for a 1 week shoot tomorrow, and i'm just trying to figure out the best workflow for watching dailies. i know i can watch mts files with vlc, but i'm not sure that the cpu that i will have access to while i'm there will have the horse power for hd mts playback. is there a way to preview the avc-hd clips in a lower resolution? how do other people watch their avchd dailies while on a shoot?

thanks elisa

Do you have a notebook running Windows 7 by any chance? Win7 has native support for mts playback watching with Windows Media Player. I've never seen any processor issues playing AVCHD files, even with a three-year-old laptop.
