MTS File Converter

Does anyone know how I can take my MTS files from my Panasonic HMC150 and convert them so I can edit into FCP? I googled it and I see lots of software but I need something that gives me full image quality!!

thanks

Assuming you are on an Intel Mac, and using FCP 6.0.6 or later, use log and transfer to pro res 422 LT.

It requires an intact PRIVATE FOLDER to do this.

For bare mts files, there's ClipWrap2, Toast 9/10, VideoPierHD, and Voltaic HD.

Thanks David. Yes, early 2009 Mac book pro, 15" Final Cut 7. I'll try Toast tonight. Do you think I'll lose image quality?

No, I don't see how you will lose any quality. Export to ProRes 422, and if you have FCP 7, Pro Res 422 LT.

You are going from a heavily compressed interframe acquisition codec to an intraframe editing codec.

Hi there,

The tool I am using is Clipwrap. It helps me to rewrap native 1080/60p MTS video to proRes 422 for further editing in FCP.
The output video is also i high quality. One slight fault one of my small clips has the video and audio out of sync issue.
i am not sure if the tool fault or my bad manipulating.
Anyway, not bad tool.

Hi, videofun.
I am testing about the related
Image converter C#.NET and Image Converter VB.NET these days. And I want to look for a fine conversion tool whose way of processing is simple and fast to help me with the related conversion work. It will be better if it is totally manual and can be customized by users according to our own favors. Do you have any ideas about it? Or any good suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Arron

Bigasoft Total Video Converter, $47 bucks. I have been using this for a few years to convert MTS files from Sony or Panasonic commercial cameras. It also works as a great compressor for a ton of other formats.
