MTS. batch converter?

I shot a bunch of audition pieces yesterday for a casting agency (40 Gb worth to be exact) and now I'm looking for a way to batch convert all the MTS. files into something like .mov files for the client. I've never had this problem before as usually I've been the one editing or I've been duplicating the card structure with all the MTS. files and handing it off to someone computer literate to do something with it. But, unfortunately the clients budget won't cover the editing component, so I'm looking for the best program to convert it all. When I say best I mean a program that will convert without any loss in quality and also allow me to convert everything with just a few clicks. I don't mind paying for a decent program either. Any suggestions?

I've been using FCP X to do just that.
Import the footage as optimized media (you can also do smaller proxies as well) and then look for them in the events folder.
Works fine if you already have FCP X - a bit pricy if you don't have it and that's all you are going to use it for.

1/ Create new FCP project with naming.
2/ Open Log and transfer.
3/ Select clips on card or from files copied to HDD.
4/ Whack them all through.
5/ GO to capture scratch / project name: and copy all those to whatever your sending to the client on - no cost, pretty fast etc.

Naming in Log and transfer will help you organise for the client - for example naming them audition number / or actor name, however they set it up. Otherwise theyre going to have strangely named files.

Adobe Media Encoder will do it.

Drag on the mts files as a queue and select what you want to encode to.

BTW - for a casting session - HD is way over the top and I bet the client does not need anything like that quality (or file size). The client will most likely need to be able to redistribute the files by email or similar.

ANother cheap program I believe will do a conversion would be AVS Video Converter.

If you're on the Mac, Clipwrap works great.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. It looks like Clipwrap might be just what I'm after.

@ Shooter - probably would be wise to shoot lower quality next time.

Yep, Clipwrap. Transcodes too, quickly. I don't even bother with FCP log & transfer anymore. Easily paid for itself many times over in time savings.
