I am in the process of trying to figure out how to do some simple editing on my PC desk top. I converted the MTS file to AVI, edited on Edius 2.5, and copied my edited print to my computer hard drive as an MPEG. When I play the MPEG I get sound breaks in the footage, such that the sound is incoherent. Is this because my computer is not fast enough to play the MPEG back clearly? (I noticed that my original AVI footage does the same thing when I play it.)
