MPEG-2 Long GOP, broadcast quality?

I am used to working in FCP with DVCpro-HD from the HVX.
will I notice a difference in quality and work flow?

Totally. Not to say quality is noticeably worse or anything like that. The XDCAM EX format is a different animal but it looks really good to my never to be humble eyes. But the workflow is actually quite similar to the P2 workflow. You're working solid state you have to do you backups etc.
