.Mp4's moved to desktop trash from Lacie Hard Drive

Whenever I plug the Lacie Drive into any of our mac computers it is placing all of the .mp4 files in the desktop trash. When I eject the lacie drive, the trash is again empty on the desktop. When I eject the Lacie drive the .mp4 files go right back in the drive, and don't say in the trash thank goodness.)

Anybody experience this? I am very nervous for there is alot of footage! I don't know
how to reconnect each mp4 files to its appropriate folder.

The "Desktop trash" is actually a conglomerate of items in the trash on all drives connected to your computer.

This means, at some point you put items on the LaCie in the trash. You haven't done an "empty trash" yet while the Lacie was still plugged in... so it remains in the LaCie's trash (and pops up in the desktop trash whenever the Lacie is plugged in).

Be careful if you think these are important files... drag them out of the trash (to somewhere in the lacie) ASAP...

Ullanta. Will I mess up the order if I drag them to a new folder that I create on the Lacie Drive? I am afraid to
even touch the .mp4's in trash because I fear I will mess up some order that will allow me to return the .mp4's to
their original place. So....

Will I have to reconnect the files one at a time into their corresponding folders? There are so many.

Is there a batch processing type way that will re-organize the .mp4's to their corresponding folder?

Thanks. You are the first person that has had any explanation for this!

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the structure of data stored on the SxS cards.... hopefully someone else can help with that! But, I don't think you'll lose anything by dragging the files out of the trash... and you'll make it less likely that you or someone else will accidentally wipe 'em out.

Is the SxS card data complicated like, say, P2 data... or is it just a bunch of .mp4s?
