GH3 Movs lost on SD card –*recovery

I shot on an exFAT formatted card on a GH3. When finshed filming a key scene for a documentary (cannot be repeated) I wanted to check in camera, wether the footage looked good. But it said: No valid media to play. On the mac the DCIM folder is empty. But the Finder says, there is 36 Gigs of the 64-card occupied. So something is there, but no file-structure.

I made a disk-image of the card to a harddrive via hard disk-tool and the restored the image to a second card. Also there are 36 gigs occupied. But when I run the first aid to fix the file structure, the card only host 2 Megs. Everything is gone.

Does anybody have an idea how to recover the .mov-files?

Help is greatly appreciated.

Panasonic has some recovery software (can't remember the name) and also Sandisk has some recovery software.

Did you format the card in camera? I didn't think the GH3 used exFat file system.
