moving projects edited in premiere to final cut.. HDV

Ok, so... here's what I am trying to do.

I have HV40 footage captured to my pc.
I have the same HV40 footage captured via a mac and final cut pro.

The footage is primarily being edited in FCP.

I wanted to see if it was possible to edit some of it in adobe premiere CS5 and export it back as an XML so it can be put with the rest of the project in FCP.

I don't need anything to transfer but the cuts for the most part.

I tried to actually use the FCP captured footage, but adobe gives me an error saying that it can't find a codec. I'm assuming this is due to FCP's proprietary format.

So if that won't work, since I have the SAME exact footage on my pc could I essentially edit, the scene in Premiere.. export it to an XML.. send the XML to final cut and then relink the media to the same clips captured in final cut?

FCP installs a quicktime codec for the Pro RES conversion. In order to view the converted media on any computer, you would need that Codec installed (i.e. viewing in quicktime).
You should be able view any footage to both editors without have a read error, since my guess is that CS5 also uses the quicktime plugin.
If your editing on CS5 on a PC, then you probably are missing that Codec... but if it was CS5 on a Mac, then you shouldn't have any issues.
What you could do, is export the clips into something more universal...Not ProRES for editing on CS5-PC. When I worked at a TV station, i'd do my rough editing in FCP... then export to a DVCPRO format, and use our PC workhorse for CS5 Aftereffects.
(Export, being the entire edited clip, that on AE I would apply motion graphics to.)
It really depends on your workflow and time table frankly. CS5 and FCP have "basically" most of the same features.
Maybe you could digest the video through CS5 first and see if FCP can read the converted media.
Excuse my lack of "solid facts", I dont use Premiere at all... just After Effects. So im speculating.
