Moving Media...

Hey guys,

For some reason my Avid system changed a few settings when I wasn't paying attention :) and it sent some of my media files to the operating system drive. I have since corrected where the files that I import should go (which is my F: drive) but I want to know if I can move the media on my c: drive without breaking links? I tried with the media tool but to be honest with you I'm not that familiar with it.

Can I just move the files, and when I load the project, Avid will ask me to find them? Just not willing to move them outside of Avid without advice!!

Before you launch the application, move the contents from the OS drive MediaFile folder to the same folder on your F drive. Launch application, all will relink.

I might also add, for anyone else who encounters this in the future, that you'll need to do the following aswell

file > Refresh Media Directories

Nothing would work until I had done this. Cheers once again.
 
Media Directories usually get refreshed when launching the application. If you move files while the application is running you should refresh directories.
