Moving footage from an old drive help

Warning: If you move forward with this, you risk losing all of your data. HIGHLY RECOMMEND you purchase the 5-pin power adapter and eSATA cables.

If you still would like to try it, gently unplug all of the connections in the top drive (be mindful of static) and look at the picture below and connect the shapes like toddlers do in those brain IQ tests...

Spin the adapter around and visually confirm which side would fit into the drive there (SATA). Use light so you can see.

If the adapter doesn't fit inside the enclosure, you will have to take the drive out of the enclosure (further complicating matters).

Once the pieces all fit, plug the USB from the adapter into your computer. If the drive does not power up, let me know and we'll take it from there.

P.S. The B&H one I guessed you have is the exact one...but all you had to do was send the model number #910005-01 from the beginning! :crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:
 
I just ordered the power supply and the cables. The only thing I don't quite get is how am I connecting both drives at the same time and how will my iMac understand that these two drives are raid zero?
 
You don't have two USB ports on your Mac?

Two eSATA cables, one from each port on the drive.

I do have 2 USB inputs on my iMac. So my computer will just see it as one drive when I connect the two USB cables? That's awesome.

Cancel the first link. And you'll most likely be able to return the adapter (don't open it yet if you haven't).

Because if you have the power cable to the G-TECH and 2 eSATA cables then it's exactly what they would have included with the product and you don't need anything else. I would have recommended this from the beginning if I knew there were 2 drives in a RAID in this enclosure. Otherwise a $20 adapter for one would have been fine and enough.

Well, I am now obsessed with you figuring this out, so I'm in it until the end!

The above is all correct, BUT that adapter may come in handy in the future...I would hold onto it until this is all solved.
 
It worked. The eBay power supply powered the drive. The 2 Sata to USB cables connected to the drive and then to the back of the computer. When I booted up my iMac, it saw the two raid zero drives as one drive and I was able to move the data to a much newer drive. Thank you so much for helping me figure this out!
 
I do not have enough skills to help you, but I will follow this thread to see what solution finally helped. I sometimes find myself in different situation where technical advice is needed. And in many cases, I could find response online. I am from https://worldpostalcode.com/united-states/texas/, and I really appreciate that people help each other in this way. It works perfectly.

Did the drive explode and kill the guy?

Did he short something out and lose all the data???

Did he google the part number, get the needed parts and realize he just burned up 6 pages of dvxuser and $64 to get old 1440I HDV footy from an fx1.
