are you guys updated regarding this?
i just got in my mailbox a DVD and brochure from movietube and finally got to see anything further than the flash animation they have on their website.
so just shortly, and even before i watch the DVD, looks like it offers everything the P+S has, plus an option for sony viewfinder, a genius design, built for handheld operating, they say "no hotspot" (we'll see in a minute..). price for the basic "tube" is 7,950€. with all the extras ("PRO Parts" which include the electronic connectors, rig for mattebox, battery mounts, viewfinder mount [w/o viewfinder], brest pad etc.) is 12,330€. absolutely not the thing most of us could afford.. yet a new digital-supportive tool is in the house.. respect.

Re: MovieTube

ok, watched the DVD.
you have there a videoclip (T.Raumschmiere rocks!) in 3 versions, and a section of demo shots; separated rushes-like shots from the featured music video.i watched those shots first and was mostly very impressed. i was then almost positive it wasn't a DVX, but it looked damn good. very.. hm.. filmic, no hotspot indeed. some better DPeed shots looked better than the others..
but then came the clip on it's 3 versions: un-color-corrected, color corrected and b&w.
the uncorrected looked so bad i wanted to cry, mostly due to it's being an interlaced video (now it was clear that it wasn't a DVX no no), only with some very shallow dof. why on earth would they want to show something like this on their demo DVD. dono.
the color-corrected looked obviously better, tons of grain for the filmic feel, not so amazing at the whole.. but i was already too depressed from watching the first version.. another weird thing, it didn't look as good as the demo shots!!! don't get it.

i will contact them and try to solve this enigma...

Re: MovieTube

further more, quite obviously, the thing will work great with the DVX, no doubt.. and i would love to test it myself. today i also found that Kinomatik, the makers of MovieTube, are from Stuttgart Geramny.. so sooner or later ;)
