MoviePro App for iPhone

I feel like I just got a new camera. I decided to "splurge" on a $5 app for my iphone called MoviePro for my iphone 6. Not sure if anyone here has used it but it's awsome! Yes I could find things to pick at but honestly it's way more than I expected.

Basically it give you all the manual control and setting you could have ever thought of wanting to an iphone. Here is what it can do:

  • Gives you 3K resolution on your iphone 6 (normally the iphone 6 shoots 1080P)
  • Up to around 150mbps bitrate
  • Take full resolution still while shooting video
  • Manual audio control (built in mics, plugged in mics, or bluetooth mics) (use it as a really portable sound recorder, plug a nice preamp before it or just put it in a grooms pocket)
  • Uncompressed audio option
  • White Balance and Tint
  • Shutter speed
  • ISO
  • Focus distance

I went to a concert last night and coupled this with the Ikan Fly x3 Plus handheld gimbal. The footage looks pretty awsome and felt like I had total control in probably the most uncontrolled lighting environment ever. The gimbal caught the attention of a security guard who called me over because he thought I was using a professional camera or something. I simply showed him that its just an iphone and that there were about 300 people using the same camera as me at that very moment. he was pretty confused looking but just left me alone after that. The whole not using profossional cameras at concerts argument is a silly one but I'm perfectly happy getting pro results from a camera that people don't consider pro.

We have been using FiLMiC Pro for iPhone and iPad. In addition to the features you listed, it also includes 24p frame rate (and other frame rates), manual focus, variable speed zoom, and audio meters. All at the staggering price of $10.
