Movie Trailer

I honestly have no problem with sex or violence in film. I have a problem with how graphic it can get sometimes and Hollywood's preoccupation with trying to change our morallity. Everyone doesn't think hoping in and out of bed with anyone and everyone is okay nor is everyone so blind as to except falling in "love" with someone as an excuse for adultery or other acts. Hollywood knows how to sell us on these concepts based on their years of experience and if everyone keeps telling us these things are okay, eventually even believers will be taken in. (All those professing Jesus don't live in a Christly way).

As far as taking Hwood back for Jesus, he has all power to take it back for Himself if He wanted it. The goal is simply to put it out there and let God do His thing. What happens is many times we think we're going to do a grand thing for God when we can do nothing for Him. Only His word and power stands. The job of a filmmaker is to place it before people in a narrative space. And before we do anything we must study not only The Word but the art of filmmaking. Too many Christians know the word of God but framming and general aesthetics are far from them. (That's a little pun for the Christians).

In my first film I had this problem. I knew what I wanted to say but how to say it in a way that wouldn't bore people, that was my problem. People did actually find it interesting but my aesthetics (the art part of it) was sorely lacking. My lighting was off in several (let's be real, many) places and my sound jumped all over the place. It was bad, but no one ever said the story lacked, simply that it needed better over all direction (and older actors would've helped). We have to be able to make product that others (outside of just Christians) will buy. Most atheist will not buy films aimed at conversion. Conversion films are mostly bought by Christians.

"The Hollywood elites' eyes widened big time. They said, 'I thought the church was dead. I didn't think people cared. Is it possible that we don't know what's happening in state after state?' And the answer is a resounding yes."
