Movie Trailer. Impressions?

Here is the official trailer for a short film a friend of mine and I are working on. We're nearly done, just waiting to finish up a few last post production things.

I'd like some thoughts/impressions/feedback. Let me know what you think. Does it make you want to see the movie?

you need to remove the pulldown. or deinterlace.

but other than that, i think it was ok, but, it didnt really make me wanna see the movie. cant pin point why.

For what it's worth, (I just got my DVX yesterday so I dont even know what interlace and pull down is yet) I thought it looked good. This may sound about 5 years too late, but I'm amazed at how "unvideo" like footage can look on this cam.

As far as wanting to see the movie, I don't think the trailer shows enough. I mean you have a drifter, a guy picks him up, trouble ensues, we've seen that before. The acting looks decent though. Like the music too.

I liked it...and also want to see the movie. If there was anything I could comment on, it would be the music. I think it could add even more impact if tweaked a bit.

The outdoor scenes would benefit from some light control. Just a bounce board and a screen or diffusion would keep the highlights from blowing out. A big part of the film look is in controlling overexposure.

yall dont see the pulldown lines all over the footage? the horizontal black lines?

I just watched it and I DO see what you're referring to. It's something Vimeo did, I don't know how or why. It also squished the picture a bit so everyone looks a tiny bit fatter, lol, I think those two problems go hand in hand, cause and effect, etc. Ah well. It took too long to upload, so I'm not gonna try it again. Sorry.

actually vimeo doesnt do that unless youre video is exported as interlaced. when you export make sure it is as a progressive video (turn off the field controls). that and if it is an anamorphic video you need to re-export it with 16:9 dimensions (720x405). that should clean up your problems.
i struggled with the second part a whole lot

almost forgot to mention. i kind of liked it but you didnt say enough in 45 seconds. think about a commercial on tv that is 30 seconds and gives you a great idea of what happens. a lot can be said in short clips of speech mixed with some of the good emotional shots you have. but i do still like it

I know you were talking to armisiano, but now I see what you're talking about. During movement, right? You can see it big time on the bald guy at 00:32?
