Broken looks great from a tech standpoint. So what.

Broken looks great from a tech standpoint. So what.

Yes this is a very good looking production and yes spending 8k on a short was a good idea to show what you guys can do,I have seen this kind of movie a thousand times looks like a wanna be hollywood action movie(yawns) Like I said you are all very talented as far as camera work, effects etc. All you have proved is you can make movies like EVERYONE else. For all you people that will most likely flame me go right ahead and bring it on. I'm just saying what I feel I'm not trying to be a jerk I just see so many people on here that are all making the same crap
or posting "GRABS"from a new feature or short they are making. Big deal! Worry about finishing it instead of saying hey "check out my color correction". I recently got back from working on a film called "Poulrtygeist" directed by Lloyd Kaufman founder of Troma. Pretty much everyone worked for free or pennies. We did it because we wanted to make something different. I am mentioning this because I remember a while back on this site on the jobs forum someone was asking for crew to come work for no pay and everyone here flamed him! Saying thats insulting I payed my dues! Now thats just crap if your still on these forums you have obviously not payed your dues. Ok now I'm reading this I have gotten off the subject. Broken looks very good from a technical standpoint but other than that :thumbdown . I can go watch the matrix or something if I wanna see this stuff.

Thanks for your honesty but I respectfully disagree. Good luck with your future projects.

haha...i think the fact that Alex is so young, yet was able to pull this off with limited equipment and budget is the real accomplishment worth noting...its the new wave baby...more power to you alex ferrari

Yes it is very amazing not quite as amazing as Robert Rodriguez with his 7k feature El Mariachi but still pretty damn good.

I think I understand what Stroxell was trying to say but I think he just missed the point of why you guys did what you did. I, for one, will be copping the dvd for it's tutorial value. I used to be an innovator in the digi rev back in 00-01, but mo money mo problems less time to learn anything. I love the fact that cats like you exist BK05...I always tell my buds age ain't nuthin but a number these days there are 45 year olds and 15 year olds blowing my mind. Sometimes I think some of the out of work OGs or frustrated "artist" are quick to lambaste cats like y'all that bring the hotness to new arenas. For anyone to front on the crazy skills your crew has is silly. I know there are a million VFX/Editors nowadays but that doesn't make them all good....****, I been playing guitar for 15 years and still suck.

Guys...which audio mixer and mics did you use? Compressors? Wireless or boom?

BTW...the trailer is majorly kick-ass.

Thanks! Standard lavs and a shotgun mic. I don't know what compressor they used.

Thanks!

I have a question about the photoshop work on the stills. How did you get the bevel and emboss to blend right into the sink? A very cool look.
