Movie and TV productions using the Sony F3....

I'm a 2nd AC on Army Wives in Charleston, SC and an F3 owner and we use Panavised F3,s for all the Steadicam work and Handheld for the D Cam. We are using the Genesis for Studio stuff!

I'm currently DPing/shooting a seven episode home renovation show for HGTV called "Real Gen". Using the Nikon 17-55mm 2.8 with a Optitek adapter for the majority of the time, Tokina 11-16 and Nikon 85 1.4 ais for specialty shots. Recording externally to a Samurai. Mostly shooting at Cine 4 gamma with occasional S-Log for select scenes.

I've been looking but do any of these movies have posters online?

Funny you should ask. The Down Home Alien Blues is based on a novel by Linnea Sinclair. She's a national author (14 novels) with a niche among women you like romance within a sci-fi setting. Hopefully this will result in a bigger demographic among women than sci-fi usually has and still has action plus FX.

I'm sure the others have posters too.

For those in the UK, most of tomorrow nights comedy interviews on Channel 4 have been shot 25p on the F3 with the Sony primes. The 85mm was the lens of choice and this was all recorded on the PIX240 as DNxHD 145Mb/s.

If we can get posters to all the films, I would like to make a website listing out all the movies and possibly TV shows that the F3 were used on.

If everyone here can support, promote and spread the word somehow I will launch a website exclusive to the F3 tracking the films, movies and TV shows shot with it.

Is this a good/bad idea, waste of time before the F5.5 comes out? Opinions... ?

I think its a good idea, but I don't think you'll get much response from your post. People love to see the results, but are pretty apathetic about the process for things like that.

Pretty much you just have to decide to do it. If there is an F5 any time soon I doubt if there will be enough difference to make a fuss over. In average applications 50Mbps and 4.2.2 isn't much different than 35Mbps and 4.2.0. Its the extremes when it shows up.

We really should have a thread that keeps track of some of the popular movies and TV shows that use the F3. I found it helpful with clients on occasion with the EX1.

If you see any uses of the F3, post the link showing it and I'll update this first post.

Hi Duke,

Can you add the Trailer to "The Awakened" on top? Thanks.

I'm only the director, cinematographer and editor. I can't do changes without the producers' written approval.

Thanks.

I meant the quote in the prior post where you quoted the entire first page original post, not any quote in the movie. LOL

Actually, The Awakened is already in the middle of that list. I did update it for you though.
