MOV or MP4 for Resolve edit

I'm editing with Davinci Resolve on PC - recent convert from PPCC but that's another story. Barry Green recommends MP4 for Windows but I find I get faster performance if I convert the files to MOV (DNxHD) but I lose some quality - shots are marginally but noticeably less rich.
Any advice - would I be better off shooting in MOV in the first place. Of course I'll experiment but any DVX200 wisdom appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Gordon,

Just on the point of the shots being less rich, DNxHD will push your clips into broadcast safe levels (as does ProRes I think). That could be what's happening here. The quality is not lost, you just need to add contrast to push your white point up c.15 levels and black point down c.15 levels and you'll be back to the same look. :)

Torsten.
