Mounting KiPro Mini + Power

OK I've looked over a ton of stuff the last number of days and I can't figure this out. I'm going to be buying a Redrock Bundle for my AF100, I already own their shouldermount setup, and I'm getting a KiPro Mini.

Also, don't worry I have longer rods already, but I need the base plate for the AF, the FF, and the Mattebox.

I need to mount is upright on the back along with power...which I know nothing about. I need someone to help me out here. I know you can get a plate for the KiPro but what does that mount onto? I know about basic rails and a few things but not what specific pieces I need to basically mount it similar to what I see in some photos of peoples rigs. I also want to make sure I have room to get at the battery compartment of the camera so the KiPro and Battery isn't so close.

Thoughts? I mean what are the things on the back there...I see Anton Bauer Pack...two KiPro Mounting Plates, then what is that thing with the nobs? That's the whole reason I can't figure this out LOL.

Nobody? Any pros out there who know their stuff willing to lend a hand?

It is one side of the ki pro rail mount:

BTW I worked with a similar set up today.

Just by a quick peek in fcp on a big tvlogic monitor I couldn't tell the difference. But I'm not an engineer type. To me the big advantage is having the prores version immediately without waiting to transcode.

I've read many say that and I don't understand how they can't see the difference. I didn't do it through a KiPro but ingested from the HDMI into a capture card to ProresHQ and this was in a lit environment. I had just shot stuff with the on-board codec and compared the two. It's a big difference to my eye, especially in the bokeh of the image and how much smoother things get. Overall detail is much better, and the banding is diminished by a lot which to me is the most annoying part of the image. My old XHA1 with 35mm Adapter although older, worse in low-light, and HDV gave me a much smoother image with the noise evenly distributed and ZERO banding because of how the adapter added to the image before it hit the sensor. It sorta gave a slight noise filter to the footage before it was compressed (sorta how you would add it after in FCP to try and help with any banding or artifacts you have) so it really made some beautiful and filmic footage (in terms of texture especially). I'm hoping the KiPro or Nano if I end up getting that instead will give me an image clean enough that adding some texture in post won't be because I'm trying to hide things I don't like in the compression anymore, but will instead have a purpose to give me a look I'm going for.

Not bashing the on-board mind you, but I find it to be very comparable to how my 5D handles things compression wise. Just something generally milky about it to me. It's hard to explain and depending on the shot this isn't the case, but I NEVER had these issues with my old adapter setup.

http://www.kyleprohaska.com/5d/a15d.mov This is a good example of my A1 vs. the 5D (first shot is A1). Even though the exposure is pretty good on both...and the lighting decent (better in the first but still)...there's just something about that 5D footage in the way it compressed things that makes the image look so plastic and sorta gross to me while the A1 looks BEAUTIFUL to me.

Hard to nail this stuff down...also thank you for posting a link to that product...I've been looking everywhere.

Well plastic look is the signature look of canon DSLRs. . There is serious noise reduction going on to the point nothing looks real. Hence why its so appealing to some as they can create some hyper-real world out of the box. I dont want to get in a debate about nikon vs. Canon but I prefer the color and image rendition of Nikons. This us my same argument about Panasonic mojo vs all others.

About compression... I also love the look of my 35mm adapter. It partly because of the vibrating focus screen adding a nice overall grain texture, but also as you mention a more robust codec and color space. I don't mind some noise in an image, it's micro-blocking artifacts that make me want to vomit.
