Im looking to rent a professional shoulder rig for an up and coming project as well as a monitor. How would I mount a monitor to a shoulder rig like this?

Thanks

Rod clamp and noga arm. Forget the c clamp, two bulky and heavy. I'm on my phones o just google those 2 things. Also Redrock has an attachment to attach a monitor to their rig. That would be ideal. Look on the redrockmicro site.

whoever you rent the rig from SHOULD offer you a monitor arm option. but how you mount your monitor depends on what other gear you have and where you want it in the chain.

the articulating arm is the most common. as its the most flexible. here are the parts i used with my shoulder rig:

arm:

mount the arm to the 15mm rod:

mount the monitor to the arm:

other companies make similar solutions:
rod mount with 1/4 20 hole:

arm with 1/4 20 mounts:

Thanks! ALso On that Ikan site I seen they have a new monitor for sale http://www.ikancorp.com/productInfo.php?id=354

Looks similar to the Dp4 but is a lot cheaper, I think this might be what I was looking for

ikan is based here in houston. i was in their offices last week and had a chance to check out that VL5.
for the money, that it's a SUPER little monitor.

technically, spec for spec, it's not quite as good as the DP4 and it's ONLY HDMI (with no loop through to connect other monitors) but for its target user. that probably is of no consequence!
its plastic, where the DP4 is aluminum. so the DP4 will FEEL better. BUT the VL5 will be considerably lighter. which in this case may be more important!

at $349 its one of the best deals you'll find. im planning to pick one up myself.
