Motorized Skater Dolly on Sale for $100

Wow. This looks awesome. Incredibly affordable. If you threw an SLR on here, built yourself some DIY PVC track, you can get some great stuff for very little $$.

I have a few questions:
1) This doesn't have start-and-stop functionality, right?
2) Without start-and-stop can you still capture night timelapse sequences? Or would it need to be moving incredibly slowly?
3) Are there any 3rd Party/after-market kits/solutions to add start-and-stop functionality to motorized dollies like this or the Revolve RAM system? I mean, I would think that the parts are out there, I just don't have the know-how to make a programmable start-and-stop controller...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
I think you would have to hack this to add Start/Stop functionality.

It looks like the motor is NOT designed for time-lapse sequences. ( I think you would have better luck rigging your own DIY stepper-motor drive )
