Motorcycle Mount options?

I'm looking for a sturdy mount for the front bars on a motorcycle. I'm looking to shoot both the rider, and then turn it around and shoot the road. I can find lots of solutions for smaller cams, but nothing that seems reliable enough to put an HVX on. (I would of course safety chain it somehow) Here is an example:

I'm more interested to hear what anyone here has used for similar applications, and less interested in links you find/know online, I've found plenty of those. (unless it's exactly what I'm looking for!)

try this ----> http://www.b-hague.co.uk/Mounting Brackets.htm

half way down or so... look at the 100mm bowl/ladder mounts. I bought one a year ago and use it all the time. Never on the motorcycle, but this thing has a very strong grip. Im thinking it might work on your handlebars. There are two types here... Im thinking you need the superclamp model... I have the other.

You have to consider what your mounting options are: Are we talking about a Standard motorcycle, a Ducati 750 style , chopper?

A standard sort of bike with no fairing will be much easier to rig to than a sport bike.

If you do this, you should take the project seriously. You can sketch it together and maybe pull off the shot, but don't be too casual about it.

From a safety standpoint you should rig your camera support to 2 or 3 points if you can, with a safety loop on the camera in case of a total failure.

You're driving down the road and doing your shot and the 1 point rigging method you employed just loosened up and now your HVX rig is staring to dangle, you notice this just as the car pulls out in front of you from the drive way.........

When rigging to vehicles you really want multiple mounting points because what can go wrong will.

I've done this before and you really want to locate an experienced key grip to help you with the rig, if you haven't built one. Your safety and the safety of other random people around you is at stake.

Well the shot will be about 10 seconds, and probably cut down to 3 in the edit.

If I can sell the idea of the shot and get my dept. to buy the mount, I will be getting the marketing dept. to spring for someone to come in with their own bike and ride it, which I should be able to pick out so that it's handle bars are appropriate and will be stable for a camera. If there isn't a mounting area on the bars I'm not going to try it.

I hadn't thought about getting key grip... if I don't feel comfortable doing this I'll definitely see about hiring someone for a day to come in a help out.

I've mounted the HVX onto some pretty sketchy area, and I always employ safety cables, 2x if possible.
