"Motive" - Feature Film Production Teaser

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow. Even though I don't speak the language that's cool because the English subtitles are there. Man that trailer was amazing. First off I'm a sound person so I spend 90% of my time focusing on sound. Either you got good on set sounds or had a great Foley Artist/Sound Effects Editor. The sound on this is amazing and the ending is incredible. I really liked it. Good luck with everything.

I really liked this.

can you post your workflow? Any setup shots?

What camera did you use, waht for sound? Where did you source your actors from?

It all had a nice professional look (aside from your soldiers, they had somewhat of a nervous unprofessional look about them), maybe the way they were holding their guns seemed loose or something?

Other than that, very interesting, and nice explosion effect.

Hey! Thanks a lot for the comments!

I put very much into sound usually since I believe that sound is half your image and something really worth investing time in. Usually I do a lot of Foley work, but this time, it's actually all on set sound. My girlfriend catches sound amazingly. :D

Heh, the soldiers are actually all just one soldier - me. I had to quickly stand in and do all of them since there was no one else there. :)

I have no setup shots. But it was a simple layout:

We wrote the teaser based on the screenplay, storyboarded the whole thing through exactly - all the shots were precisely planned and drawn, then we cast two actors we wanted to work with and see how they handle the roles and shot the whole thing in my garage last saturday - the film was finished sunday evening, hence the rather graphicy explosion look. It's nothing that's in the final film hence it was rather quickly done.

The crew behind the camera was small. One person camera and one person sound, that's all. Lighting was achieved with two 1000 Watt spotlights and some ambilight with a blue foil to diffuse the light.

It was shot with a Sony FX1 plus Letus Adapter and Nikon Objective and sound was recorded with a sony MC mic glued to a stick.

Hope that helps. :)
