MOTION DETECTOR to Trigger the SONY EX1 Camera ??

I have a Sony EX1 and I need to buy, or have someone build, a devise that will trigger the camera via a motion detector.

In other words, I want to set the camera up, and when something moves in front of it, the motion detector triggers the camera to shoot for x number of seconds.

This devise can be wired to the camera or remotely, as long as it works.

If anyone knows where I can buy such a thing, or have one built, please let me know. Or, if you will build it for me.

Thanks for your time.

What kind of motion detection are you talking about? What are you trying to detect? Elephants? Field mice? How far away are they? What environmental conditions?

Many inexpensive outdoor light fixtures come with common, passive infra-red (PIR) detectors that can detect moving human-size objects at a range of several feet. Those PIR sensors can be found for a few dollars on the surplus and hobby market. It would not be a difficult thing to use a small micro-controller (like Arduino) to provide this kind of camera control.

Did you thoroughly research camera triggers? I strongly suspect that commercial devices already exist that will do this.
